Scientific Name: Urodacus butleri Volschenk, Harvey & Prendini, 2012
Size: 50-70mm
Ecomorphotype: Fossorial - Obligate Burrower

Description: A member of the endemic Australian Urodacidae family, whose closest relatives include members of the Scorpionidae inc., Heterometrus, Opisthophthalmus, and Pandinus.

Most similar to U. manicatus, planimanus and novaehollandiae this species is known from Barrow Island and the Pilbara region of WA. Named after the late well known ecologist Harry Butler.

The images below are of a specimen that very much matches the U butleri description but was found quite some distance SE of the known butleri distribution.
